Robert Wright scribbles in his recent column that Conservatives somehow created the environment for Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan and the Fort Hood massacre; He makes the point that the War on Terror is not about killing Islamic radicals, “but rather to contain the virus of Islamist radicalism”
I beg to differ, Mr. Wright. If The United States & The Allies had taken this very approach in WWII, Europe would be ruled by a merciless Adolf Hitler Jr, and there would not be such a thing as Jewish anymore.
Does killing Islamic radicals not contribute to containment of the “virus”? The killing of a radical, someone who believes whole heartedly in the vision of killing of Americans, and someone who spreads that vision, abundantly wipes out radical Islam.
Hasan was pushed to do what he did by a radical imam, and most of all, his radical, western hating religion, Islam. He knew what he was doing, he wasn’t delusional, this wasn’t a disease, nor did a magic fairy tell him to do it in his sleep.
He murdered 14 people in cold blood.
